While fans in the Big Apple may have preferred a best-of-seven Subway Series for the Commissioner’s Trophy, a classic Dodgers-Yankees showdown is a pretty stellar consolation prize. Both teams boast remarkable lineups brimming with All-Star talent. The Dodgers have muddied through numerous injuries to their pitching staff and are now only four wins away from their first full-season title in over 45 years.
The Yankees, meanwhile, spent big on superstar Juan Soto this offseason in order to compete for a title. They didn’t even make the playoffs a season ago, and now they are in the World Series for the first time in over a decade.
